British singer Adele first shared about her broken marriage and the heartbreaking questions of her young son when his parents no longer live together.

In an interview with Vogue in November, Adele said she hopes her new album, which includes songs about divorce, will help her son Angelo as an adult understand what happened. Adele and foundation president Simon Konecki split in April 2019 when their son was just 7 years old.
“He asked a lot of simple questions that I couldn’t answer, because I didn’t know the answers,” Adele said. “Like: Why do n’t parents live together anymore? – That’s what people do when they get a divorce. – But why mom? I can only say: I don’t know. Then the boy asked: Why don’t you love dad anymore? I said: I love your father, just don’t love him anymore. I can’t help a 9-year-old boy understand.”

Adele admits she struggled with talking to her son about the split, which worried her so much that her therapist suggested recording it so she could remember what the two of them had talked about.
The 33-year-old star said that she and her ex-husband had never argued in front of their children, so Angelo could not understand why her parents broke up. She herself could not explain clearly. “It’s just that things just don’t fit anymore. I don’t want to get stuck. I would be miserable if I didn’t put myself first. Nothing really bad happened that led to the divorce. Neither of us did anything wrong or hurt each other. I just want my son to see his mother loved and happy. That is really important. I have been on my journey to find true happiness ever since,” Adele first opened up about the cause of the breakup.
The singer Some One Like You and Simon broke up peacefully for a long time before announcing it to the public. Despite the divorce, she has no regrets when she was once attached to Simon – a perfect man – and had a child with him.
