Black Panther Star Angela Bassett Get Wax Figure

Dreams do come true! The icon herself, Angela Bassett, revealed her new wax figure featured at Madame Tussauds Hollywood, capping off an incredible week of other celebrity figure reveals featuring powerhouse female artists Jennifer Hudson and Tiffany Haddish. Bassett is honored to showcase her very first figure to the public at the world’s greatest wax museum.

“It’s like looking in a mirror! Dreams really do come true and I am blown away by the detail and execution by the Madame Tussauds artists. My figure is truly remarkable, and I am extremely honored to be perfectly featured at Madame Tussauds Los Angeles,” said Bassett.

The creative team modeled Bassett’s face and hands first in clay before then moulding in wax. Each strand of her fabulously famous hair was individually inserted by hand and it took approximately five weeks to complete the full head of hair. Colorists also applied multiple layers of oil paint to create her lifelike skin tone.

Angela Bassett is known for an array of projects throughout her career, but Marvel fans know her best as Ramonda from Black Panther. Bassett recently reprised her role in an episode of the animated series, What If…?, and she will soon be seen again in the upcoming Black Panther sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In addition to being a fan-favorite Marvel star, Bassett was also nominated for an Oscar back in 1994 for playing Tina Turner in What’s Love Got to Do with It. She’s also recently lent her voice to Pixar’s Soul, appeared in Netflix’s new action movie Gunpowder Milkshake, and has been featured in five seasons of American Horror Story.
