Mysterious house in the desert

While most of the attention has been focused on Johnny Depp and how he lost his fortune, Amber Heard revealed something that also deserves attention.

At the beginning of her opening testimony, she confirmed that she lived in Yucca Valley, California (USA). Not in a luxury mansion or a million-dollar mansion, the actress said she lives in an abandoned house with arid desert, no shopping center nearby and a small population.

However, Dirt.com reports that Amber Heard’s name does not appear on the home’s deed, but rather that the property was purchased through a trust affiliated with Amber Heard. The 24,000-square-meter site was built in 2015 and purchased in 2019 for $570,000.

Marketplace reported that the Covid-19 pandemic caused homes in the desert in California to skyrocket. The publication explains that desert homes have increased in value in part because everyone is working remotely during the pandemic.

The location of the house

Yucca Valley is a town with a population of approximately 20,000, located in San Bernardino County (USA). The nearest place is Joshua Tree National Park – which is famous for U2’s album of the same name.

The home was purchased in 2019, Dirt.com reports Amber Heard has only recently moved in. The New York Post speculated that ex-wife Johnny Depp used the house as a hideout to avoid all the media attention she faced during her defamation trial.

A source also told British media that Amber Heard loves the desert and uses the house as a getaway.

The master bedroom has a luxurious spa-style bath. The house also has a large yard, a garage that can accommodate up to 5 cars and is finished in the typical wood of an abandoned house.
