Ezra Miller Has ‘Illusions of Grandeur,’ the Flash Was Jesus of the Multiverse

According to Vanity Fair, Miller’s mental health issues began to worsen in March 2020 at the onset of Covid-19, when work on their film projects — including the Fantastic Beasts sequel — abruptly came to a halt. With “no plan,” Miller traveled to Iceland, where the actor’s issues first grabbed headlines after they were filmed choking a woman in Reykjavik.

A month after Ezra Miller said they would enter treatment to deal with “complex mental health issues,” a new report details the actor’s disturbing downward spiral over the past two years, with Miller believing they were “the Messiah.”

Ezra Miller did not, to put it mildly, invoke their right to remain silent. This past March, the actor was arrested in a tiki bar called Margarita Village in Hilo, Hawaii, after shouting profanities, spitting in a patron’s face, and grabbing a microphone from a woman singing karaoke to “Shallow” from A Star Is Born. Miller claimed to have been accosted by a Nazi and to have evidence. In fact, one of the first things you hear the actor say in the three-minute police body-cam video that circulated after the arrest is something the officers had likely never heard from a disorderly dive bar patron before: “I film myself when I get assaulted for NFT crypto art.”

Once outside, Miller—sweaty and disheveled in a black suit jacket, burgundy pants, and a red tie—barks at the cops to state their full names and badge numbers. When one attempts to search Miller’s pockets, the actor says twice, rapid-fire, “I’m transgender nonbinary. I don’t want to be searched by a man.” After being called “sir,” the actor responds, “That is an act of intentional bigotry and a technical hate crime.” Miller, whose pronouns are they/them, registers their objection to being “unlawfully persecuted for a crime of no designation,” says they have preexisting nerve damage from police handcuffs, and expands on the Nazi’s assault. “You should have told us that instead of running away,” an officer replies placidly. “We could have took care of everything real quick. But you wanted to play the game.”

In the last two years, Miller has had frequent run-ins with the law following reports of multiple assaults, a felony theft and child endangerment. Two restraining orders have been issued in two states, but Miller remains free and Warner Bros. is still planning to release “The Flash,” despite the mounting incidents.

After facing felony burglary charges in Vermont in August, Miller issued the following statement: “Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment. I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”

Miller’s preoccupation with drugs (“drug,” they called it) and guns was also a concern for their inner circle at Mountain; A friend reported that Miller was burning sage in the barrel of an AR-15. Miller embarked on a trip in January 2022 where they uploaded the infamous video threatening to kill a North Carolina chapter of the KKK. Later, Miller’s friends and Marta’s mother allegedly locked their weapons.

“There was a large bow and arrow on the table, facing the door. Ezra is lying face down on the floor,” a friend of Miller told Vanity Fair. “There is always someone in the house. And no one was there, but Ezra, a drunkard, holding a bow and arrow alone because the others had taken their guns and locked them away. And Ezra was very worried about that. ”

As Rolling Stone previously reported in April, the string of Miller arrests prompted an emergency meeting of Warner Bros. executives. and the DC comics giant to discuss the actor’s future with the studio.

After the future of The Flash – or Jesus of the multiverse, as Miller calls the character – was threatened by his actions (as well as the studio’s abrupt cancellation of Batgirl), Miller eventually apologized to the regulators. WB executive met face-to-face and promised to enter the treatment center.

The news that Miller is seeking treatment comes just days after Rolling Stone reported that police visited the 29-year-old actor’s Vermont ranch out of concern for the safety of a young mother and father. her children, who are being raised at the residence.

“Recently going through a period of intense crisis, I now understand that I am experiencing complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” the statement said. “I would like to apologize to everyone that I was alarmed and upset with my past behaviour. I am committed to doing the work necessary to get back to a healthy, safe and productive phase in my life.”
